MSTS / OpenRails

Microsoft Train Simulator (MSTS) is a simulation game from Microsoft. The aim of the game is to control the train from a counterfeit cabin of a real locomotive.

The player also hears all sounds that can be heard in reality. In the game the player must pay attention to points, signals, speed and the like.

OpenRails is the (free) successor to Microsoft Train Simulator. MSTS was launched by Microsoft in 2001, but unfortunately not further developed. In 2009, support ended and open-source OpenRails was launched. Most of the routes and trains for MSTS also work in OpenRails.
