The Class 66 is a locomotive with diesel-electric drive, used for pulling freight trains. The machines are built in Canada by Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD), until 2005 by General Motors Electro-Motive Division. Berkshire Partners later became the owner of EMD. There are more than 624 of these locomotives in Europe. Most drive in the UK.
