In 2002, NS had a shortage of locomotives. Because the push-pull trains on the IJssellijn had 2 locomotives per train, they used more locomotives than NS could afford. Therefore it was decided to free 4 locomotives by using a number of DD-AR driving trailers (information from a photo on flickr) These trains were used for example on the Eindhoven-Schiphol line.
On a summer evening in 2002 you will drive the IC to Schiphol. Due to a widespread signal malfunction, it is not possible to drive further than Utrecht. In part 2 you will return from Utrecht to Eindhoven.

In 2002 had de NS last van een tekort aan loc's.
Omdat de trek-duwstammen op de IJssellijn per stam 2 loc's gebruikten, gebruikten deze meer loc's dan de NS zich kon veroorloven.
Daarom werd besloten om 4 loc's vrij te spelen door gebruik van een aantal DD-AR stuurrijtuigen.
Deze stammen werden onder andere ingezet op de lijn Eindhoven-Schiphol (informatie afkomstig van een foto op flickr)
Op een zomeravond in 2002 mag je de IC naar Schiphol rijden. Door een seinstoring kan er niet verder gereden worden dan Utrecht. In Utrecht mag je in deel 2 weer terugkeren naar Eindhoven.
