Maetel999 0 Posted July 9, 2021 (edited) When I click the asset to load it in they are all invisible. They do not work. Could you help? Am I missing requirements? Edited July 9, 2021 by Maetel999
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted July 29, 2021 (edited) Hello, I am having a similar issue. SJEF is activated: The assets appear in the list menu in route builder: However, when I select any of them to place, nothing appears or places. The gizmo appears after placement, but no asset is placed. After I click out and try to select in the same area to see if anything is there, the gizmo does not appear and there doesn't seem to be anything there to select. The files appear in the Assets folder as seen below: I've used a bunch of your assets in a fictional route I am working on - thank you for your work!! Gordon Edited July 29, 2021 by NJCurmudgeon
Sjef61 2,302 Posted July 29, 2021 Thanks for using my assets. I do not understand what is going wrong.. I have checked all files and the upload works fine. All files are in de RWP file. Did you select this?
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted July 30, 2021 Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have the "Scenery Density" at the maximum setting. Maybe I should try uninstalling it and installing a fresh download? If that is a possible fix, how would I uninstall it? Thanks again!
Sjef61 2,302 Posted July 30, 2021 You can remove the folder "Malmø_Centralstation" manually and install it again. Or uninstall it with Utilities You see this also?
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted July 30, 2021 Yes, I see all those files. I uninstalled the files via Utilities and reinstalled a freshly downloaded file. It still is not working. This is the only of your files I've downloaded that has had this issue. Not sure what's going on.
Sjef61 2,302 Posted July 30, 2021 Can not find the problem. I removed de orginal files and download the RWP from Sim Together. Then i clear the cache from TS2021 Then I unpack the RWP file with 7ZIP and manually copy the files in Railworks. It works fine..
rcdevisser 355 Posted July 31, 2021 HI Mr. Curmudgeon. Maybe you have to check out the miscellaneous tab in the route editor. Most of tne assets are present at that location.
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted September 3, 2021 Hi rcdevisser. Sorry for taking so long to acknowledge your message. I can find the assets in the menu. The problem I am having is after I select any of them, nothing appears when I go to place it. I tried removing it and downloading and installing a fresh copy in case something was inadvertently corrupted during my first download. I am still having the problem. Unfortunately, Sjef61 is apparently unable to replicate the problem, so is unable to help. I don't know if anyone else has also experienced this. All Sjef61's other assets have worked without any issues. This has been the only one that has not worked for me. I guess it must be something at my end, but I am unable to determine what. If I ever figure it out, I will share the solution! Thanks.
Sjef61 2,302 Posted September 3, 2021 Are you sure you don't have a version installed in the wrong folder?
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted September 8, 2021 I used the TS package manager tool to install, so presuming it put the files in the correct folders, I don't think so. Is there a way of completely uninstalling it so I can do another fresh installation? I can't think what else to do other than try it again. Thanks!
Sjef61 2,302 Posted September 8, 2021 You can remove the folder "Malmø_Centralstation" manually and install it again. Or uninstall it with Utilities can you check if the folder "Malmø_Centralstation" does not appear twice in the folder ASSETS ??
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted September 9, 2021 I searched the Assets folder for "Malmø_Centralstation" and only one was found. I uninstalled it using utilities, downloaded a fresh file, reinstalled it with utilities, did another search to confirm only one copy, but am still having the exact same problem. The assets show up in the menu, but when I place them, only the 'gizmo' appears - no asset. When I place and deselect, the gizmo disappears and there is nothing there that is even selectable. I really don't understand what is going wrong since your other assets work fine. And I appear to be the only one with the problem.
Sjef61 2,302 Posted September 9, 2021 I have no idea anymore. It's a riddle. I assume you cleared the cashe memory after uninstall II tested it 2x. and everything was there I make all assets the same way...
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted September 10, 2021 I verified the game files and everything was fine. The one thing I did not do was clear the cache. I have a question about that. I have done some reskinning of existing third party assets for my own fictional route that I have been working on recently. I changed the original asset (not a copy) since I am not using it in any other routes. (Nothing for release to anyone else, by the way, so no violations!) But if I clear cache, it says it will reset the DLC - does that mean it will revert to the original livery pre-reskinning? I guess it's not the end of the world if I have to redo them, since I saved the Photoshop files I used to create them and it's only a couple of things I changed. Maybe this a stupid question, but is that something I need to be aware of? I have no reason to think it's anything with your products and probably something at my end. But I'm not sure what and not experienced enough to troubleshoot it. I appreciate your help!
Sjef61 2,302 Posted September 10, 2021 Clear Cache will not redo youre repaint. If it is a Steam DLC and you verify youre TS data it Will do that.
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted September 11, 2021 The assets I reskinned are not Steam DLC. I will give it a try and report back what the outcome was... 1
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted September 11, 2021 I uninstalled the assets with utilities and cleared cache in TS. I opened the route editor to confirm the assets were no longer in the menu list. The folder was also gone from Assets folder. I reinstalled a fresh download using utilities. Unfortunately, I still have the exact same problem! I opened a new layout in case it was something wrong with the layout I was trying to use the assets in, but I have the same problem no matter what route layouts I try. I will post this on the Steam forum and see if anyone else has any suggestions. Thank you for trying to help me.
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted September 13, 2021 The replies so far have been things I already considered. But one person responded "Sounds like either they are installed incorrectly or there is another asset box that needs to be ticked." This is what I have checked for SJEF. Are there any others that may be listed under something other than SJEF? Thanks!
Sjef61 2,302 Posted September 13, 2021 Hi, The canopies are completely under SjefAssets. So if they are selected , they should be visible. Sjef.
Maetel999 0 Posted December 19, 2021 Have we solved the issue with this asset yet, about it being invisible in the game?
NJCurmudgeon 2 Posted January 2, 2022 There is still an issue. None of the assets in the set have worked for me despite all the efforts detailed in the thread here. Since you have not been able to find a fault with the files by testing them, the question is if anyone else has had the same issue and then if there is something we all have in common with our computers that might explain why these specific assets fail for some but not others. The other sets of your assets that I have downloaded have all worked fine. Is there anything different about this set that may make it fail under certain circumstances? Maybe something that a lesser quality graphics card can't handle? I know my computer isn't ideal for TS, though it has obviously been good enough for your other assets. Just a thought. Thanks.
