    Local service to St. Rudolf

A typical 90s local train on its way to St. Rudolf, low ridership included.
  8. You see 'em once, you've seen them all. 8425 approaching its final stop "Kröpcke".

    150 007 with a limestone train

150 007 passing by the station building of Steinbach an der Rincke on one of her last trips in Summer of 2002. The BR150 was the biggest member of the Einheitslok family and saw use in front of heavy freight trains until 2003.

    185 319 with a potash train

185 319 pulling its set of Tds freight wagons through the south german landscape. Trains like this one have actually become pretty rare, as almost all of the older Tds-type cars have been replaced with more modern and more spacious freight wagons.
  12. About as much of a mix of wagons as the infamous IR "Rennsteig", but never as popular. On a cold and cloudy evening in late autumn of 1997, 232 355 had the honour of being the lead locomotive of the IR 2253/2254 "Rinckental" from Wildau to Hoch Merzburg.

    Times of change

Route closures, cancelled trains and locomotive scrapping: the 90s were a turbulent time for the German railways. This small regional line was also closed and fully demolished by the early 2000s.
  15. 425 042 and 420 057 in Köblitz. The BR420 was already put out of service on the S-Bahn network around Altenburg a few months ago. However, 10 units are currently kept as reserve in case of a hiccup on the network, like a failed door control unit on 425 042. So, 420 057 and 140 pulled into the adjacent platform track to continue the S1 service to Bad Rinckenburg with around 20 minutes of delay.
  16. The passengers on platform 2 at Köbler Wald were very surprised to see an old-school pair of 420s pull into the opposite platform, even though their last day in service was more than half a year ago.
  17. The lack of proper graffiti removal on the lead car is clearly visible.

    Adventures in Orientrot

110 224 with a 3-carriage Pbz/Personenzug für besondere Zwecke (Passenger train for special purposes) on its way from Leipzig to Wittenberg, back in the days of orient red locos and InterRegio services.
  19. This is sadly not an isolated case, every single S-Bahn unit here is full of graffiti, and the DB is barely doing anything against it (or cleaning it in the first place). It's taken me quite a while to figure out the unit number, in this case it was 425 280. Along with 424 039, the two units were ready to depart and head north towards Hannover central station on the sunny evening of October 7th, 2020.
