Faals / Falrrs
The Faals151, the Falrrs152 and the Falrrs153 are a type of freight car used for the transport of ore. It is a six-axle car of the self-releasing type, which means that the load is released by opening flaps on the side, causing the load to fall out. The valves are equipped with a magnetic hydraulic closure, which is operated by a fixed magnet along the discharge site. The release valves can also be operated manually.
The Faals type designation has the following meaning:
F = open dump truck
aa = with 6 or more axes
l = self-unloading bulk wagon on both sides simultaneously
s = maximum speed 100 km / h
The Falrrs consists of two copies of the Faals that are connected to each other by means of a fixed connecting rod.
The Falrrs type designation has the following meaning:
F = open dump truck
a = with bogies
l = self-unloading bulk wagon on both sides simultaneously
rr = multiple wagon
s = maximum speed 100 km / h
The cars and car sets do not have a screw coupling but an automatic UIC coupling, so that a coupling car was always required for transport in the Netherlands, until 18 Baureihe 189 locomotives allowed in the Netherlands were fitted with a UIC coupling. Ore trains with wagons of the Falrrs type run in the Netherlands mainly on the Zevenaar-Maasvlakte route, via the Betuwe route.
