Paddington Arrival Signal Box 1.0

This box was constructed during World War II to withstand nearby bomb blasts, hence the brick and reinforced concrete design. It survived in situ until the early 1990's before being demolished. The adjacent buildings, are however, still standing today. This type of design was used by the GWR at all centres of importance and vital junctions.

Installation:

Deze doos werd gebouwd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog om nabijgelegen bomexplosies te weerstaan, vandaar het ontwerp van baksteen en gewapend beton. Het overleefde in situ tot het begin van de jaren 1990 voordat het werd gesloopt. De aangrenzende gebouwen staan echter nog steeds overeind. Dit type ontwerp werd door de GWR op alle belangrijke en cruciale knooppunten gebruikt.
