Beste allemaal, Zoals eerder aangekondigd, zal ik stoppen met SimTogether. Hierbij een update over de verdere planning: Per 1 november 2025 stopt de verkoop via de SimTogether Shop. De website blijft actief tot en met 1 januari 2026. Daarna zal de website in de loop van januari offline gaan. Downloads blijven beschikbaar tot en met 1 januari 2026. Na deze datum zijn downloads niet langer beschikbaar. Wat betreft de TreinPunt-downloads op Treinenwereld: hierover volgt later nog een aparte communicatie. We zijn nog in overleg over hoe we dit het beste kunnen organiseren. Alle ChrisTrains-producten worden per 1 november 2025 overgedragen aan ChrisTrains. Dit betekent dat je vanaf dat moment je aankopen van ChrisTrains kunt downloaden via de website van ChrisTrains. Je kunt daar je e-mailadres invoeren om toegang te krijgen tot je eerdere aankopen. Tot en met 1 januari kun je je aankopen ook blijven downloaden via SimTogether. Maak je je zorgen over je privacy? Geen zorgen: SimTogether en ChrisTrains hebben een verwerkersovereenkomst. Alleen je naam, e-mailadres en serienummer worden gedeeld met ChrisTrains. Er wordt géén andere informatie gedeeld. Andere aankopen (zoals van Just Trains, Aerosoft en het oude Trainworx) dien je uiterlijk 1 januari 2026 zelf te downloaden en op te slaan. Na deze datum is het niet meer mogelijk om deze opnieuw te downloaden. Beste SimTogether-community, Na ruim 15 jaar komt er een einde aan mijn reis met SimTogether en TreinPunt.NL. Destijds begon ik dit avontuur als student, gedreven door een passie voor openbaar vervoersimulaties en een wens om een plek te creëren waar liefhebbers elkaar konden vinden. Inmiddels is mijn leven sterk veranderd: een fulltime baan, diverse nevenactiviteiten, en simpelweg minder vrije tijd dan voorheen. Helaas betekent dit dat ik niet langer de tijd kan investeren die nodig is om SimTogether draaiende te houden, hoe jammer ik dit ook vind. Ik streef ernaar om per 1 oktober definitief te stoppen met SimTogether. Deze reis kende ongelooflijke hoogtepunten. We groeiden uit tot een levendige gemeenschap met duizenden leden, dag na dag 15 nieuwe registraties, en een indrukwekkende verzameling downloads die velen geholpen hebben hun simulatie-ervaring te verrijken. Maar naast de hoogtepunten waren er ook moeilijke momenten. Het verlies van GerJan in 2014 was een zware klap voor ons allen en liet zien hoezeer deze gemeenschap meer was dan alleen een website—het was een plek van vriendschap en gedeelde passie. Daarnaast wil ik mijn enorme waardering uitspreken voor het team dat SimTogether in de afgelopen jaren heeft gemaakt tot wat het nu is. Hun inzet, toewijding en passie hebben ervoor gezorgd dat deze community kon blijven groeien en bloeien. Zonder hen was SimTogether niet waar het vandaag de dag staat. Hoewel ik afscheid neem van mijn actieve rol, sta ik open voor een eventuele overname onder de juiste condities. De vorm hiervan is bespreekbaar, en geïnteresseerden kunnen hierover contact met mij opnemen via een PB. Verder wil ik benadrukken dat alle aankopen geborgd blijven, en afhankelijk van de gekozen richting na mijn vertrek zal er snel meer informatie volgen. When I first started, I was still a student, driven by a passion for public transport simulations and a vision of creating a space for enthusiasts to connect. Over the years, my life has changed significantly—I now have a full-time job, various other commitments, and far less free time than before. Unfortunately, this means I can no longer dedicate the necessary time to SimTogether, no matter how much I wish I could. My goal is to officially step away from SimTogether by October 1st. This journey has been filled with incredible moments. We grew into a thriving community with thousands of members, welcoming 15 new registrations each day, and hosting a vast library of downloads that enriched many simulation experiences. But there were also difficult times. The passing of GerJan in 2014 was a painful loss for all of us, reminding us that this community was more than just a website—it was a place of friendship and shared passion. I also want to express my deepest gratitude to the team that has worked tirelessly over the years to make SimTogether what it is today. Their dedication, commitment, and passion have allowed this community to continue thriving. Without them, SimTogether would not be where it stands today. Although I am stepping away from my active role, I am open to a possible takeover under the right conditions. Dit heeft als reden dat de Screenshot van het Jaar - de winnaar is vandaag bekend gemaakt - de Screenshot van de Maand heeft overschaduwd. Omdat we geen representatieve winnaar kunnen uitroepen voor de Screenshot van de Maand, is besloten om de December competitie ongeldig te verklaren.
