  1. 1985 - Posttrein 51050 van Utrecht naar Arnhem Goederen

In the 1980s, the Dutch Railways (NS) ran mail trains between the various major cities for the PTT via a star network. Today you will ride a mail train between Utrecht and Arnhem. The timetable has been constructed as closely as possible according to the original timetable, with the postal train and freight trains fictitiously arranged.

    Have fun with the ride.

Note: Due to the large number of AI trains and the use of DC trains, this is a fairly tough scenario.

  2. 1985 - Stoptrein 9725 van Utrecht naar Zutphen

In this scenario we go back to the 80s, the time when the 'hondekoppen' and 'appekoppen' still drove the main part of the train services. In Utrecht you will take the local train 9725 from your colleague and take it to Zutphen via Arnhem.

The train service has been set up as closely as possible according to the original timetable. However, the train compositions are fictitiously constructed, as are the freight trains that are fictitiously inlaid.

Note: The TEE7 occasionally wants to overshoot the platform in Utrecht, does not look nice, does not affect the scenario further. The cause is unknown. Possible 'random' TS behaviour.
Note: The TEE7 suddenly overshoots when it departs from Arnhem. Reason unknown.

  6. 1985 - Terug naar Arnhem met sneltrein 4639 (met vertraging) - Deel 2.

This scenario is the sequel to "1985 - Sneltrein 4322 van Arnhem naar Zwolle". Meanwhile the loco 1202 has been detoured and is standing in front of the train again. You just got a cup of coffee, train 4624 has just arrived and now you are waiting so you can leave at 10:22.

The train service has been set up as closely as possible according to the original timetable. Freight trains are fictitiously added and the train compositions are also fictitiously constructed.

Have fun on the ride back to Arnhem.

Note: Purely random IC529 to Groningen can get stuck at signal 148. The behavior of departing AI trains from Zwolle in the direction of Groningen/Leeuwarden is affected by this, but it does not affect the further course of the ride.

  7. 1985 - Sneltrein 4322 van Arnhem naar Zwolle - Deel 1.

In this scenario we go back to the time when the pulled Plan E tribes were still lord and master of the IJssellijn. In Arnhem you will take the 4322 from your colleague and bring the train to Zwolle. In Zwolle you will rearrange the locomotive to place it on the other side of the train, so that you can return to Arnhem as train 4639.

Remark: Due to the large number of AI trains, this is a fairly tough scenario.

  8. 1984 - Goederentrein naar Emmerich met 2x2200.

In this scenario, you drive the daily freight train to Emmerich. Arrived there you will uncouple the wagons, and pick up an already waiting freight train. You will then take this train back to Arnhem.

The timetable is set up as close as possible to the original timetable. The break in Emmerich has been shortened slightly and for the locomotive change some tricks are used because TS unfortunately has its limitations. The intention was to bring back the feeling of the 80s, when on the line Arnhem - Emmerich still many pulled trains, freight trains and loose locomotives their made miles.

Note: Connecting to the freight train in Emmerich can sometimes be a bit of a problem.  However, using the CONTROL-SHIFT-C key combination usually works.

This download contains 2 scenario versions: a full and a light version. The full version is with DC locomotives and other wagons and coaches. The light version contains alternatives, to limit processor memory and resource usage. Also for some trains alternative compositions are created, which make use of rolling stock that already in a used package.

  9. 1984 - Ophalen van de IC122 in Emmerich (v1.1).

In this scenario you are driving the 1304 to Emmerich to pick up the IC122 there. When you arrive in Emmerich, wait for the train to arrive and then take it over. Then you return to Arnhem.

The timetable is partly based on the original timetable as closely as possible, but also partly fictitiously. Due to limitations and 'quirks' in TS, not everything can be set up realistically, but seen from the cabin the view is correct. The intention was to bring back the feeling of the 1980s, when many hauled trains, freight trains and individual locomotives still made their kilometers on the Arnhem - Emmerich line.

Note: Connecting to the IC122 should be done with the necessary policy. In one way or another, the locomotive can overshoot causing the train to derail. Drive carefully against the buffers of the carriage and do not drive too far before coupling, otherwise things will go wrong...

  10. 1984 - Ophalen van een kolentrein in Emmerich.

In this scenario you are on the way to Emmerich with the 1629 to pick up a waiting coal train there. You will then return to Arnhem by coal train.

The timetable is partly according to the original timetable, but also partly fictitious. Due to limitations and 'idiosyncrasies' in TS, not everything can be set up realistically. The intention was to bring back the feeling of the 1980s, when many hauled trains, freight trains and loose locomotives still made their kilometers on the Arnhem - Emmerich line.

  11. 1985 - Rangeren in Zevenaar met de NS 2400.

Today you are on your way to Zevenaar with train 55501. There you will pick up the loaded cars and leave the unloaded cars behind before returning to Arnhem as train 55500. You will have a hard job to handle the shunting work between the regular train traffic. Good luck with this tough scenario.

The setup of the train service has been build according to the original timetable with some adjustments to get it working within TS.

    Have fun.

  12. 1985 - Kolentrein naar Emmerich met 4x2200

With this scenario we go back to the 80's. The time when TEE's, D-trains, IC's and 'buurland'-trains were still running on the Arnhem-Emmerich route, pulled by an 1100, 1200 or 1300. But there were also several freight trains, coal trains and ore trains.

Today you take a coal train from Arnhem to Emmerich, where you disconnect the wagons and return to Arnhem as a separate decoy train. Due to a defective 1300, there are 4 locomotives of the series 2200 in front of this train today.

The train service has been set up as closely as possible according to the original timetable. Other trains are fictitiously inlaid. The train compositions are also partly fictitious. An attempt has been made to set up a realistic timetable, to bring back the feeling of the train service from that time.

    Have fun on this ride.

  13. 1985 - Lege graantrein 58552 terug naar Arnhem (Deel 2).

This scenario is the continuation of '1985 - Full grain train 57552 to Aalten (Part 1)'. After the shunting work you are ready to return to Arnhem.
The signal will turn green and you can leave. You will bring the cars to Arnhem Goederens, next you will take the locomotives to Arnhem Berg.

The train service has been set up as closely as possible according to the original timetable. Freight trains are fictitiously added and the train compositions are also fictitiously constructed.

  14. 1985 - Volle graantrein 57552 naar Aalten (Deel 1).

In this scenario we go back to the 80's. Back then there were still riding grain trains from Arnhem to Aalten. Today you are driving one of those grain trains with number 57552. Your shift starts at Arnhem Berg. From there you will drive to Arnhem Goederen to pick up the grain wagons. As soon as a time slot is available you will leave and take the train to Aalten. The cars will then be exchanged against the empty wagons. Please note that you are driving a freight train, which means other trains will often have a higher priority.

The train service has been set up as closely as possible according to the original timetable. Freight trains are fictitiously added and the train compositions are also fictitiously constructed.
