Beste SimTogether-community,
Na ruim 15 jaar komt er een einde aan mijn reis met SimTogether en TreinPunt.NL. Destijds begon ik dit avontuur als student, gedreven door een passie voor openbaar vervoersimulaties en een wens om een plek te creëren waar liefhebbers elkaar konden vinden. Inmiddels is mijn leven sterk veranderd: een fulltime baan, diverse nevenactiviteiten, en simpelweg minder vrije tijd dan voorheen. Helaas betekent dit dat ik niet langer de tijd kan investeren die nodig is om SimTogether draaiende te houden, hoe jammer ik dit ook vind. Ik streef ernaar om per 1 oktober definitief te stoppen met SimTogether.
Deze reis kende ongelooflijke hoogtepunten. We groeiden uit tot een levendige gemeenschap met duizenden leden, dag na dag 15 nieuwe registraties, en een indrukwekkende verzameling downloads die velen geholpen hebben hun simulatie-ervaring te verrijken. Maar naast de hoogtepunten waren er ook moeilijke momenten. Het verlies van GerJan in 2014 was een zware klap voor ons allen en liet zien hoezeer deze gemeenschap meer was dan alleen een website—het was een plek van vriendschap en gedeelde passie.
Daarnaast wil ik mijn enorme waardering uitspreken voor het team dat SimTogether in de afgelopen jaren heeft gemaakt tot wat het nu is. Hun inzet, toewijding en passie hebben ervoor gezorgd dat deze community kon blijven groeien en bloeien. Zonder hen was SimTogether niet waar het vandaag de dag staat.
Hoewel ik afscheid neem van mijn actieve rol, sta ik open voor een eventuele overname onder de juiste condities. De vorm hiervan is bespreekbaar, en geïnteresseerden kunnen hierover contact met mij opnemen via een PB. Verder wil ik benadrukken dat alle aankopen geborgd blijven, en afhankelijk van de gekozen richting na mijn vertrek zal er snel meer informatie volgen.
Ik kijk met trots terug op alles wat we samen hebben bereikt en wil iedereen bedanken die hieraan heeft bijgedragen. Het is een moeilijke beslissing om afscheid te nemen, maar ik weet dat de herinneringen en de impact van deze gemeenschap zullen blijven bestaan.

Dear SimTogether community,
After more than 15 years, my journey with SimTogether and its predecessor, TreinPunt.NL, is coming to an end. When I first started, I was still a student, driven by a passion for public transport simulations and a vision of creating a space for enthusiasts to connect. Over the years, my life has changed significantly—I now have a full-time job, various other commitments, and far less free time than before. Unfortunately, this means I can no longer dedicate the necessary time to SimTogether, no matter how much I wish I could. My goal is to officially step away from SimTogether by October 1st.
This journey has been filled with incredible moments. We grew into a thriving community with thousands of members, welcoming 15 new registrations each day, and hosting a vast library of downloads that enriched many simulation experiences. But there were also difficult times. The passing of GerJan in 2014 was a painful loss for all of us, reminding us that this community was more than just a website—it was a place of friendship and shared passion.
I also want to express my deepest gratitude to the team that has worked tirelessly over the years to make SimTogether what it is today. Their dedication, commitment, and passion have allowed this community to continue thriving. Without them, SimTogether would not be where it stands today.
Although I am stepping away from my active role, I am open to a possible takeover under the right conditions. The form of this transition is open for discussion, and those interested can reach out to me via a private message. Additionally, I want to assure everyone that all purchases will remain secured, and depending on the direction chosen after my departure, further information will follow soon.
I look back with pride at everything we’ve accomplished together and want to thank everyone who has contributed. Saying goodbye is not easy, but I know that the memories and impact of this community will continue to live on.

Afgelopen maand is zeer beperkt gestemd op de Screenshot van de Maand December. Dit heeft als reden dat de Screenshot van het Jaar - de winnaar is vandaag bekend gemaakt - de Screenshot van de Maand heeft overschaduwd. Omdat we geen representatieve winnaar kunnen uitroepen voor de Screenshot van de Maand, is besloten om de December competitie ongeldig te verklaren. De Januari ronde is zojuist geopend en alle screenshots kunnen uiteraard opnieuw meedoen in de Januari ronde.
Excuus voor het ongemak.
Last month, there were very few votes for the Screenshot of the Month December. This is because the Screenshot of the Year – the winner of which was announced today – overshadowed the Screenshot of the Month. Since we cannot declare a representative winner for the Screenshot of the Month, it has been decided to invalidate the December competition. The January round has just opened, and all screenshots can of course participate again in the January round.

Op dit moment is er een probleem met het installatiebestand van de Grenzlandbahn. Er wordt gewerkt aan een oplossing. In dit topic zal ik regelmatig updates versturen.

- Horn sounds re-done with loop points
- Miscellaneous bogie and wagon sound changes
- New control sounds for many of the cab controls, recorded from cab ride
- Moved the traction motor sound to the engine wagon instead of the passenger wagon (!)
- Removed the ‘voices’ from the Thurbo PZB emulation
- New 'at speed' cab sound effect for general wind/rail noise, recorded from cab ride
- Removed the 'crash' sound and replaced it with a schafenberg coupler sound, for coupling
- New (irritating) cab wiper sounds
Blueprints
==========
- Excluded miscellaneous blueprints from the content browser (like smoke, lights, drivers etc)
- Add all Dutch freeware routes to consist blueprints for the Dutch GTWs so they can now show up as AI and quickdrive consists automatically
- Changed reverser from percentage to A-0-V in the HUD
- Fixed some brake controls that were not set to ‘apply to consist’
- Corrected all brake blueprint data to be consistent with other ChrisTrains models
- Updated dynamic braking blueprints
- Re-wrote and simplified the combined throttle / brake controller. It now has correct notches for 10% (tempomaat), 0% (off), -10% (brake 1) and -20% (remcrit) with linear control outside those ranges.
- Fixed an error in the motor wagon blueprints where the train brake and dynamic brake controls were missing (!)
- Reduced camera sway/jolt movement in the cab
- Made second camera view in cab tilt slightly downwards
- Flipped the motor wagon in the consist blueprints – it was in backwards originally
Scripting
=========
- New ATB-EG and ATB-NG functions to match all other recently-updated trains
- “E” shortcut now zeros out throttle/brake controller
- MUCH more prototypical performance under acceleration and braking, from newly-collected real-world test runs of EMU and both types of DMU from various drivers across the Dutch networks. You know who you are - Thank you !
- Updated logic for manual use of pneumatic brakes – now correctly overrides throttle control and requires manual throttle reset in order to gain traction again
- Added holding brake when stopped
- Emergency brake now requires correct reset procedure with pneumatic brake handle and optionally ATB-release (if triggered by ATB)
- Added throttle smoothing/averaging
- Added dynamic brake smoothing/averaging
- If the reverser is set to 0 it now requires a throttle reset before power can be applied
- New scripting around the re-written throttle/brake handle
- More efficient code for cruise/tempomaat display function
- Added a traction block indication to the MFD
- New, up-to-date headlight functions including new high/full beam headlights - the headlights in the GTW are now based on the driver being in the cab. There is no longer an "off" position
- New, up-to-date driver figure logic
- Pantograph animation logic now much more efficient – doesn’t try to continuously animate pantograph every frame
- Cab lighting now visible from outside when cab lights are on
- New controls for passenger area lighting. Passengers are not present and wagons are now unlit when parked.
- Corrected the cab braking / traction meter in Dutch and German versions
- The second set of rear lights on the Capital Metro version actually function as brake lights in the real train – added that functionality to the model
- New local master destination list for all Dutch versions with massively expanded range of stations and messages, and destination pre-se

Binnen het SimTogether team zijn er een tweetal wijzigingen. Helaas heeft Giraffe me Crazy, moderator op de Discord, besloten om het team te verlaten. Met name school en werken laten het voor David niet langer toe om onderdeel van het team te zijn. Erg jammer, maar ook begrijpelijk. Ik wil David bedanken voor zijn inzet de afgelopen jaren en wens hem alle succes de komende tijd bij alle andere werkzaamheden!
Gelukkig hebben we een vervanger voor David kunnen vinden. Ik ben dan ook zeer verheugd om te kunnen mededelen dat @train85 (Florian) bereid is gevonden om toe te treden tot het team. Florian heeft gisteren kort kennis kunnen maken met het team. Met Florian voegen we een zeer ervaren moderator toe aan het team!
Florian, heel veel succes de komende tijd!
I'd like to share two changes within the SimTogether team. Unfortunately, Giraffe me Crazy has decided to leave the SimTogether team as a moderator. School and work don't allow David to be part of the team any longer. Understandable but of course very unfortunate. I'd like to thank David for all his efforts and hard work and wish him all the best in the future!
Luckily we have been able to find a successor for David. I'm very excited to announce that @train85 (Florian) has decided to join the SimTogether team as a moderator for the Discord. After a quick acquittance with the team yesterday, Florian is even moren enthusiastic to join the team. He brings many years of 'moderating' experience!

Voor het regelen van het betalingsverkeer op SimTogether, maken we gebruik van Stripe. Stripe support echter niet langer een interface waar SimTogether gebruik van maakte. Dit is nu opgelost en het is weer mogelijk om met Ideal te betalen. Excuus voor het ongemak.
